Zwarthout - produces unique wood products with fire treatment. The production process is inspired by the ancient, traditional Japanese Shou Sugi Ban wood charring technique.
To maintain the uniformity and sustainability of the black charred wood, they even developed their own highly efficient production process. Each of their wood is charred in a workshop of Zwarthout, which gives it a unique carbon layer.
All charred wood types have their own structure. It is used as a durable aesthetic facade, as well as in modern interiors and special furniture.
Zwarthout was the first in Europe to create its own collection of beautiful black carbon wood species. Zwarthout strives to make the most of carbon neutral products and certified wood for production.
